PROTOCOL
We encourage independent student groups and institute student teams to pursue their co-curricular and extracurricular projects at the Microfactory. The Microfactory was setup with the primary motive of allowing students to use world-class equipment to prototype their ideas by themselves. Keeping this in mind, we have developed a 3-tier access system for each student:
- TRAINEE
Students who wish to use a particular equipment will first undergo rigorous training with the lab manager. This will include an introduction to the said equipment, the standard operating procedure, and rules regarding safety.
- FIRST USER
Students who have completed training on a particular equipment would then be allowed to work on their intended job under the supervision of the lab manager.
- INDEPENDENT USER
Students who have satisfactorily passed the first user stage would be allowed to use the particular equipment independently, with minimal supervision of the lab manager, only if required.
Please Note: While you are working at the Shrinivasan and Nagar Microfactory, please follow rules and regulations as instructed by the lab in-charge. Violation of instructions will be penalized.
Our facility is equipped with world-class conventional, non-conventional, additive, and subtractive manufacturing equipment. To know more about Facilities click here

Along with facilitating the fabrication of your own ideas, the Microfactory has brought up a new initiative of offering a diverse range of projects for students. These could range from hobby projects floated by the Microfactory team, technical projects floated by faculty, or even problem statements floated by our industrial partners. The projects floated as part of this initiative will provide you with valuable learning opportunities to complement your academics. This is your chance to apply your classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios, enhance your hands-on aptitude, and hone your practical skills of design, fabrication and assembly.
